Albuquerque -- The Communications Workers of America endorsed Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham as their choice for the next Governor of New Mexico.
CWA 7076 is a local chapter of the Communications Workers of America, an international labor union actively representing over 700,000 men and women in both private and public sectors. Local 7076 represents public employees with members in the State of New Mexico, University of New Mexico (UNM), University of New Mexico Hospitals (UNMH), Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), and the Timberon Water and Sanitation Department.
“Of all four candidates, only one has proved to be a consistent, and accessible ally over the years they have held elected office. Only one has actually reached out to us and asked for our endorsement. That one is Michelle Lujan Grisham,” said Donald Alire, President of CWA Local 7076.
“CWA Local 7076 represents public employees in New Mexico with members in UNM and UNMH, State of New Mexico, CNM, and more. It is an honor to receive their endorsement, and as governor, I will work with CWA Local 7076 to ensure that their voice is being heard in Santa Fe,” said Rep. Lujan Grisham. “Together, we will ensure that our public employees are treated as professionals, receive fair wages, and have great working conditions.”
