Michelle Lujan Grisham was endorsed by Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund. Everytown is the nation’s largest gun violence protection organization. Michelle announced her Action Plan to Combat New Mexico Gun Violence in March, and has also been endorsed by former representative Gabby Giffords and Captain Mark Kelly.
“Gun violence is a public health crisis in New Mexico, and our families deserve real action that will build safer communities across the state,” said Michelle Lujan Grisham. “I’m proud to have the support of Everytown as we work to enact common-sense gun laws like universal background checks, child access prevention laws, and taking guns out of the hands of domestic abusers. New Mexico children and families must feel safe in their communities.”
John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety said: “The American people know gun safety isn’t a right-or-left issue — it’s a life-or-death issue that our leaders need to address immediately. Voters of all stripes want stronger gun laws — and Everytown is going to redraw the electoral map in November.”
Shannon Watts, the president of Moms Demand Action said: “Across the country, Moms Demand Action volunteers are showing up for candidates who support gun safety. We’re registering voters, knocking doors and making calls to get people to the polls to vote for gun sense candidates in November. Make no mistake: a wave of gun sense candidates who support common-sense gun laws is coming.”
Michelle Lujan Grisham was endorsed alongside three other gubernatorial candidates: Stacey Abrams in Georgia, Steve Sisolak in Nevada, and Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan.
