Ahead of today’s NAIOP forum,  Michelle Lujan Grisham launched a new ad, “Runway” continuing her focus on rebuilding our infrastructure, creating good paying jobs, fixing our broken public education system by responsibly using the Land Grant Permanent Fund, and growing New Mexico’s renewable energy industry. As New Mexico continues to lag behind the rest of the country in unemployment, earnings, and poverty, it will be up to the next governor to enter office with real solutions to New Mexico’s economic challenges. “Runway” highlights some of the key policies Michelle will support as governor in order to create good-paying jobs and grow the state’s economy for the long run.

“Too many New Mexicans have been left behind by the failed economic policies of the past eight years, but I see tremendous opportunity all across New Mexico which is why I’ve released thirteen comprehensive policy plans to make New Mexico a safer and more prosperous place for all our children and families,” said Michelle Lujan Grisham. “Working together, we will rebuild our public education system and infrastructure, support small business growth, build a clean energy economy, and make New Mexico a hub for international trade.”

“Everywhere I travel across New Mexico I hear the same thing, our state needs more quality jobs,” said Howie Morales. “I’m proud to work with Michelle because she has real, detailed plans to get our economy back on the right track and ensure every New Mexican, from Las Cruces to Los Alamos, has the skills and opportunity to succeed.”

A transcript of the ad, with links to relevant policy plans included, is below.

“What can a governor do to jumpstart our economy? A lot. A governor can fast track infrastructure investments, promote small business, sell more clean energy to other states, use the permanent fund to invest in schools, expand job training programs, and make New Mexico a hub for international trade. Instead of losing families, we’re going to ship products. When I’m governor, we’ll be open for business.”
