Albuquerque – Today, Former President of the United States Barack Obama announced his endorsement of Michelle Lujan Grisham for Governor of New Mexico. President Obama also endorsed Senator Howie Morales for Lieutenant Governor.
President Barack Obama said, “New Mexicans deserve a governor like Michelle Lujan Grisham. She’s a tireless champion for New Mexico families who she gets things done. Whether going undercover in a nursing home to expose abuse and neglect of seniors or crashing a White House meeting to demand a seat at the table and make New Mexicans’ voices heard, Michelle stops at nothing to fight for the people she serves. The last eight years have left New Mexicans waiting for a leader like Michelle, a leader who can restore hope and put opportunity back within reach. As governor, she’ll break down barriers to invest more into our classrooms, create clean energy jobs, expand workforce training, and bring quality pre-k to every New Mexico child. I know with your help she can get it done.”
“This election is about bringing energy, vision, and experienced leadership to Santa Fe to build a stronger economy, expand health care access, and create a better future for our kids,” said Michelle Lujan Grisham. “That’s why I’m so honored to have President Obama’s support and trust as we work every day to protect and build on his legacy in New Mexico and create real opportunities for families across the state.”
“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of President Obama,” said Senator Howie Morales. “With his support, I’ll work alongside Michelle to create jobs, fix our broken public education system, and improve access to health care in rural New Mexico.”
